Maleficent is often held up as the embodiment of evil in Disney’s fairy tale universe. Despite her reputation, the 2014 live action film fleshed out the character’s backstory, providing a meaning for her madness. On October 18, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will further expand on the character’s backstory—around the same time, Funko will release a Pop! Vinyl figured based on actress Angelina Jolie’s turn as the powerful fairy.

Disney’s modern series of live action remakes started in 2010 with Alice in Wonderland, and Maleficent followed in 2014.
