Characters from award-winning film Gladiator become Funko Pop! Vinyl

The 2000 film Gladiator is a tale of violence and political power—both themes are represented in its new Funko Pop! Vinyl series.

Three different figures are based on Russel Crowe’s Maximus Decimus Meridius, with a Funko-Shop exclusive clad in full armor, an FYE retail exclusive clad in gold armor and a widely available figure brandishing a sword. Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus is seen in his Imperial garb.

Gladiator Pop! Vinyl Maximus and Commodus can be pre-ordered now through Entertainment Earth for $10.99 each.

Directly by Ridley Scott, Gladiator won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Sound Mixing, Costume Design and Visual Effects. Crowe’s performance in the film one him an award for Best Actor.

As the film begins, Maximus is a trusted ally of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Events unfold that lead to Aurelius’ death, Maximus’ arrest and Commodus’ rise to power. However, Maximus and Commodus are destined to cross paths again.

Gladiator may be purchased on Blu-ray from Amazon.
