At 1 p.m. ET Aug. 21, Mondo will launch pre-orders for the double-LP soundtrack to the 1998 PlayStation action title Metal Gear Solid. Pre-orders are available on smoky green or black vinyl.
The sequel to Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid tasks players with the infiltration of an Alaskan military base overrun by a rogue special forces outfit known as FOXHOUND. As Solid Snake, gamers experienced a then-unique game that asked them to hide and sneak as opposed to stand and fight.
Series creator Hideo Kojima and his team populated levels with larger-than-life characters straight from the wildest dreams of action film aficionados and leaned on a fitting soundtrack that framed each set piece with precision.

That soundtrack was created by musicians at MGS publisher Konami, and the double-LP set includes both the title’s famous theme and a song written for the game by Japanese musician Rika Muranaka. Her work also appears in later MGS titles.
Kojima’s latest work, Death Stranding, is out on PlayStation 4 this November.
Mondo also has enamel pins available for Metal Gear Solid fans. Solid Snake, Ninja and Psycho Mantis are $10, while a double pack featuring a solider and the iconic red exclamation point soldiers display once they’ve spotted Snake is $13.
