Our Take

I missed out on TurboGrafx-16 as a kid, and this mini console’s announcement had me excited to try some of the platform’s best games without breaking the bank on retro hardware and software. However, the majority of its game list—and the majority of quality titles—are in a language I want to learn to read but currently can’t. I’m sure I can fumble my way through most of the offerings, but I’m particularly disappointed by Snatcher, a game I’ve wanted to play since I saw it featured in Electronic Gaming Monthly as a child.

I know it’d be a lot to create English translations of these titles for something like a mini console, but owning Snatcher without being able to play it is a cruelty I won’t bestow upon myself. That said, Konami has compiled a great selection of games in an impressively authentic package.
