Red Faction, Super ComboMan, Super Mutant Alien Assault get limited runs July 12

At 10 a.m. ET July 12, the PlayStation 2 first person shooter Red Faction will be available on disk for PlayStation 4 through Limited Run Games.

The standard edition is $29.99 and is an open pre-order running through July 26. The collector’s edition will be available in limited quantities at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and includes the game, a SteelBook case, a soundtrack CD, an art print, a metal emblem, two enamel pins and a reversible poster. It’ll cost $64.99.

First released in 2001 to critical acclaim, Red Faction helped introduce destructible environments to console gaming and featured a cinematic story mode that helped endear the FPS genre to gamers still easing into a genre that, at the turn of the century, was found predominantly on PC.

Red Faction’s soundtrack will also be available at 10 a.m. It’s a red double LP and will retail for $34.99.

Along with Red Faction, Limited Run’s July 12 offerings include the PlayStation 4 game Super ComboMan: Smash Edition and the PlayStation Vita title Super Mutant Alien Assault.

Super ComboMan: Smash Edition was released on consoles digitally in 2017 and is a 2D sidescrolling platformer/brawler with an emphasis on combos. Limited Run’s limited run is only 1,800 copies and will be $29.99. Interested parties can order at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m., if they miss out on the first batch.

Super Mutant Alien Assault is an arcade shooter that’s ship 2,000 physical copies through Limited Run. Unlike most releases from the publisher, copies of SMAA will ship immediately if purchased independent of any item that’s out of stock. Copies will be available at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m., for those who can’t get to first drop before it sells out.
