This year, Uniqlo’s annual tee design contest asked artists to submit work inspired by the long-running entertainment franchise Pokemon. Today, designs handpicked by Uniqlo and The Pokemon Company are available to order.

Mens and womens tees are $14.90, while kids tees are $9.90. Over 20 different designs are available, but the contest winner, a totem-inspired piece featuring Magikarp and its evolution, Gyarados, is absent.

Uniqlo released a statement stating its artist, Li Wen Pei, broke contest rules and no new winner would be named. Li used the design on unlicensed Pokemon merchandise before submitting it to the contest.

Our Take

Despite losing its crowned champion, Uniqlo’s contest resulted in a number of fun, fashionable designs. Pokemaniacs of all ages should be able to find something that catches their eye.
