Admission for entry into the gungeon just rose exponentially.
During its unorthodox E3 presentation, game publisher Devolver Digital announced a $5,000 arcade cabinet based on 2016’s Enter the Gungeon.
The game, Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead, is a light gun shooter that tasks players with mowing down armies of the gundead while utilizing the series’ signature array of unique weaponry.
Financing plans are available for gamers looking to add to their personal arcade collections or hoping to start one. Otherwise, look for the game in arcades starting early 2020.
Those looking for a more economical gungeon experience can pre-order Enter the Gungeon for Nintendo Switch. The game is $29.99 and comes with four stickers, a papercraft featuring a dungeon denizen, a download code for the game’s soundtrack and an in-game gun skin.
Our Take
Enter the Gungeon’s description is full is the buzzwords gamers love to hear. It’s a roguelike bullet hell dungeon crawler featuring procedurally generated levels and permadeath, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun. Hopefully it translates well to arcades.
