Later today, Mondo is launching two different products inspired by pop culture.
At 1 p.m. ET, two variants of a Tiki mug inspired by the 1978 film Halloween will go live at MondoTees.com. The front of the mug is decorated with a jack-o-lantern design drawn from the beginning of the film, while the reverse side shows a “carved in” Michael Myers. The orange variant is $50, while a black version that’s limited to 250 retails for $60. Each includes a tiny replica knife for stirring, not stabbing.
At a random time on Thursday (watch our Twitter for an update), Mondo will make 275 copies of this colorful 24-inch by 36-inch poster (left) available for $50. It features art by Matt Taylor inspired by Marvel’s current comic crossover event, War of the Realms. The Thor-centric epic tells the story of Marvel’s heroes coming together to stop the realm conquering Dark Elf Malekith from claiming Midgard.
Our Take
This War of the Realms poster is beautiful—I may like it better than any of the Marvel Studios’ theatrical posters, Thor or otherwise. If you’re one for wall art, it’s worth your $50.
